White Adoration

There is something so appealing about pure white interiors…

...With the oh so necessary, yet very subtle pops of colour.

Sasha Pivovarova

Is she not one of the most gorgeous human beings you have ever seen...especially in this shoot by Hedi Slimane for Paris Vogue, April 2008.

I'll tell you this much, you don't get a figure like that from eating "Delicious Cheese Crakers"...

Delicious Cheese Crackers

I recently baked the most delicious Cheese Crackers from a recipe that I adapted, so I thought I would share the recipe...
They are honestly so good, I would consider doubling up the recipe if I were you...

Cheese Crackers

1 ½ cups grated extra-sharp cheddar cheese

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

¾ cup flour, plus more for dusting

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon paprika

1 tablespoon sour cream

Preheat oven to 180 ˚c
Combine cheese, butter, salt, and paprika with pastry blender (or even your fingers) until mixture resembles course crumbs.
Add the sour cream and mix until dough forms a ball.
Place dough ball in the fridge for about an hour (or in the freezer for 20mins).
Line a baking sheet with wax paper
Remove dough from fridge and roll out thinly onto a floured surface.
Use desired cookie cutter to cut out crackers.
Arrange crackers on prepared sheet.
Bake for 15minutes or until golden (this will depend on your oven and the thickness of your crackers).
Let the crackers rest for a short while before transferring to a cooling rack.

Fabulous Friday

It has been a very quiet day at the office, so quiet in fact, that when I looked up from my computer everyone seemed to have disappeared…

It is such a beautiful day out, I think I may disappear too...

Have the most wonderful weekend!

Nancy Z

Nancy Zhang is an illustrator and concept art designer from Tian Jin, and more importantly my favourite “Lookbooker”( Her looks are always accompanied by a one of her adorable little illustrations.

And just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, I discovered Nancy’s blog “IT IS NANCY’S NEW BLOG” …making it more and more difficult for me to escape my computer screen everyday, her blog is a constant source of inspiration, and one of the most visually stimulating parts of my day.

Movie Night

Every week for a good couple of years now, Tuesday has been "Movie Night". Last night I finally got the chance to see Avatar. Would you believe that it has been sold out constantly since its release...well at least all the good seats have been taken... It really was such a visually beautiful movie - was it worth all the hype though? What do you think?

A Sad Day for Fashion

British designer, Alexander McQueen, has died at age 40.

McQueen received his fashion training at the Central St. Martin’s College of Art and Design. He was best known for his unconventional designs, and theatrical runway shows, he was also named British fashion designer of the year four times.

At his spring-summer 2010 collection he featured snakeskin-printed cocktail dresses, with hoof-like platform booties.

Getting to Know You...

As a virgin blogger I spent a lot of time thinking about what to include in my daily posts.

As I said yesterday, I am inspired by the blogs I read, and in turn hope to inspire with my blog.

I thought today would be a good day to tell you a little bit about myself, and what I do.

I studied fashion at LISOF, a fashion college in Rosebank, Johannesburg, and graduated with a diploma in 2006.  Here are some pictures of my final year fashion show:

I then went on to do a post-graduate course in order to earn my degree (BA). This has been quite a process, and has taken me much longer than anticipated - studying and working full time is not easy! None the less, I finally submitted my dissertation titled " Does Footwear Reflect the Spirit of the Time with Regard to Feminism?", and eagerly await my results...

I am currently working as a menswear designer, designing men’s casual wear for various retail stores throughout the country. This is most enjoyable, as I work with such a wide range of stores, that appeal to so many different markets, so everday is something different.

Most recently, myself and three talented young ladies have decided to start our own fashion label, this is terribly exciting, and we are all exploding with ideas...will keep you posted as things progress…

Today is the First Day of the Rest of My Life…

I have finally got round to starting my Blog!
I am what I like to call a “Blog Monster”; I religiously spend far too many hours a day following many of my favourite Blogs, all of which inspire me daily. I have now taken a giant leap, and have decided to create my very own blog in the hope that I too can inspire people daily…now all I need to do is find me some followers :)

...Hmmm, now where to begin...
